SUPPORT FAQ's

Q. After installing or upgrading to TalkMaster 1.8, I get a message that TABCTL32.ocx is missing.
A. Download TABCTL32.zip and UNZIP it into the "C:\Program Files\TalkMaster-ii3" sub-directory.

Q. Is there a way to increase the volume from the TalkMaster microphone to the Intercom?
A. If the volume at the Intercom that is played from pre-recorded wav files in
TalkMaster is OK, but the the volume from the Microphone in TalkMaster is too low, verify that Microphone Boost is enabled on your audio card:

  • Double click on the Volume Control Icon in the System Tray to open the Volume Control dialog
  • Select menu option "Options --> Properties"
  • Click the Recording radio button, then click the OK button to open the Recording Control dialog
  • Click the Advanced button for the Microphone to open the Advanced Controls for Microphone dialog
  • Place a Check next to the Microphone Boost option
  • Close all of the dialog boxes
  • Now startup TalkMaster and try to talk to an Intercom

Q. How do I configure intercoms that are in a different network segment?
A. Intercoms must be in the same network segment as TalkMaster in order to be configured. You can either temporarily install a copy of TalkMaster in the network segment where the intercoms exist or you can temporarily plug the intercoms into the network where TalkMaster exists. Once the intercoms are configured, they can connect to TalkMaster from another network segment as long as the routing is properly configured.   Alternatively, you can install the UBAM software located on the TalkMaster installation CD.

Q. How do I update to the current version of TalkMaster?
A. If you are running TalkMaster 1.70 or earlier, select menu option "Tools --> Check for new versions online".  The update will be installed on your PC.  If you need to download the complete installation, select menu option "Help --> Digital Acoustics Web Site.  You will be directed to the download page for TalkMaster LE.
