Digital Acoustics was founded in 1991 to create and exploit developments in the converging areas of speech, data, and semiconductor technology. This objective remains the guiding focus today, as the Digital Acoustics' stable of products successfully leverage its core competencies in speech/audio and data communication. Over the
years, Digital Acoustics has successfully created and sold products such as
the patented TellAPhone® Series to the telecommunications, healthcare and consumer markets. Focusing
on innovation, In recent years, Digital Acoustics conceived and developed
an innovative series of IP TCP/IP intercoms targeted for the security and communications markets. The
series provides a functional equivalent to the basic push to talk point to multipoint intercom; it delivers voice quality audio over Ethernet, wireless, and fiber, in local are or wide area networks.
The genesis of Digital Acoustics was Touchbase Systems, Inc., which pioneered the world's first portable modem technology. Touchbase achieved worldwide leadership in portable modem technology and was acquired in 1991 by U.S. Robotics, Inc., now 3COM Corporation.
Today, several of the founding members of Touchbase Systems are principals of Digital Acoustics, having worked together as a team since the late 80's
The company holds a unique, patented product platform for Voice Dialing over Dial Tone or vDot® technology. Additional assets include products, platforms and proprietary software algorithms (with patents pending).
Product designs have involved international collaborations with major corporations including a flagship product for France Telecom. Additional OEM designs were packaged by Hewlett Packard, IBM,
3XFrance and Creative Labs.
Digital Acoustics continues to develop creative and useful technology, with the goal of turning devices into practical products that people will use. The company focuses its efforts toward useful integrations of speech sciences for the people who need them.
